As we continue our efforts to support community awareness around Domestic Violence prevention and critical work with vulnerable populations, on Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2021, Wurzweilers Care Caf矇 co-hosted a Wellness Check-in gathering with the members of W.A.R.M (We All Really Matter).
Founder and CEO Stephanie McGraw and her gracious staff coordinators welcomed the Care Caf矇 team for another collaboration with the goal of engaging program participants served by W.A.R.M, during their most vulnerable times one year ago, to check in on their progress, assess their current levels of stabilization and offer support and resources as needed.
In a room filled wall to wall with members and their families, McGraw welcomed members home. The event guest speakers included representatives from the New York District Attorneys office in Harlem, New York Police Department (NYPD) Domestic Violence Unit, and local faith leaders who offered words of encouragement and information about strategies to support victims, survivors, and their families seeking to disconnect from danger and connecting to help in order to eliminate vicious cycles of violence.
Care Caf矇 team members provided onsite confidential one-on-one consultations for participants who requested these services. Accolades are an order for the Care Caf矇 Team Interns. Tina T., the evenings keynote speaker, presented From Adversity to Resilience! The crowd was attentive and engaged with many outbursts of laughter and an eagerness for open group sharing. Allysha B. delivered an inspiring spoken word poem about community social justice awareness. Olivia B. supported the organizing of the event with space setup and played a critical role in completing intake forms for members seeking one-on one-consultation with Care Caf矇 after our presentation!
Our sincerest thank you to W.A.R.M for their partnership. We have so much more work to do, and Care Caf矇 is ready to serve!
To the Care Caf矇 Team, excellent work!
