Dr. Irit Felsen, adjunct professor at , held an educational program on June 19, 2019, at the Museum of Jewish Heritage A Living Memorial to the Holocaust titled Understanding the Impact of Trauma on Holocaust Survivors Facing the End of Life: Examining the Past to Improve Care in the Present.
This topic has been extremely personally important to me, said Dr. Felsen, having observed both personally, as a daughter of survivors, and professionally, as a psychologist working in medical settings, the need for educating healthcare professionals about how to provide trauma-informed care to trauma survivors.
The presentation was part of a longer program that included testimony from two Holocaust survivors, a presentation on palliative care and cultural sensitivity, a Q&A session and an exhibit tour.
